Write the full, unabridged version of your letter below. None of what you write will be sent over the network until you've had a chance to mark which parts you want to protect. ("How can I verify this?") Provide all relevant information for the recipient to follow up with you, just as you would in a typical private email.
When you've finished, click the button below to continue to the protect phase (you will still be able to come back and make changes if necessary.)
Note: Because what you type is not being sent to our server until after you've taken out the parts you want to protect, we are not saving a copy as you type. So if your browser or computer crashes, you'll lose your letter. You might want to compose in another program with auto-save, and then paste it here when you are finished.
Now it's time to pull out your "black highlighter" and protect any sensitive information you don't want posted to the public. Anything marked in orange is a suggestion you can protect with a single click (email addresses, etc.) Click on a protected section to un-protect it, and you can go back and make changes to the text by clicking on the "Compose" tab.
You won't be sending the marked out text of your letter to the server. However, you will be sending a digital verification number that can be used by you or the recipient to prove what you wrote. (To understand how this is possible, read this. Everything you do not mark out will be published to the server.
When you're satisfied that everything you didn't mark out is okay to publish on the internet so anyone can see it, continue.

Legal note: By posting your letter, you are agreeing to publish it under the Creative Commons No Derivative Works license. This gives others the right to present copies for commentary (or for any other purpose)—just as long as those copies and digital signatures are not modified. This is of fundamental importance, so read more here if you have any questions.
You didn't mark any parts of your letter as protected. The letter is viewable in full at the following URL:
You MUST send the following information to the recipient (and save a copy yourself). It contains the verifiable proof of what was written in the hidden parts of the letter. None of this was sent to the server, so if you lose this information then evidence of what you have written will be lost!
Keep that safe, because both the missing information AND the proof to verify it are contained in that certificate. You can test the certificate by visiting the following URL:

NOTE: This is a demonstration installation of the django-blackhighlighter app. I wanted a sandbox for people to try out the functionality, to show that it actually works and to perhaps motivate others to contribute to the project. It is running on a very inexpensive server hosting account and I do not have the capacity to store letters permanently. In fact, I'll probably be wiping the database rather often. So please use this for testing only! (That's why it says "sandbox") :)
